Flying start to the new Learning Centre

The new Learning Centre, launched in early June, has made a great start, attracting well over 150 registrations from new learners in the first month. There are a range of people from across the whole Thames Valley patch that have registered to use the Modules on line, and numbers are growing every day.

A few points to mention from early feedback on people registering:

  • If by any chance you lose your user name and password, all you need to know if that your user name is your email address, and password is ...in fact, password! We have done it this way to make it as simple as possible to remember.
  • We really need to make sure that the people who are registered remain active using the Modules, so will be monitoring usage during the first few months. If there is no activity across a 3 month period, we may need to re-allocate registered users to more active ones, as we have limited capacity.
  • Once you register, you will get a response with your user name and password within 48 hours, and usually less.
We have also negotiated with the NHS Core Learning Unit to provide an additional 5 Training Modules available on the Learner Management system, which should be available within the next week or so.

These are:
  • Food, Nutrition and Hydration in Health and Social Care
  • Infection Prevention and You - Social Care
  • Promoting and protecting health - everybody's business
  • Clinical Infection Prevention Programme - Urinary Catheters
  • Understanding Personal Safety and Security Awareness
