The UK Border Agency website contains comprehensive guidance on how to check all new employee's rght to live and work in the UK documents and how to prevent illegal working.

The " Comprehensive Guidance for Employeers on Preventing Illegal Working February 2008" is a particularly helpful document which can be downloaded and has detailed images of documents such as passports, ID cards and what to look out for.
