Training in West Berkshire

Social Care Training at West Berkshire Council provides a training programme every year from 1st April to 31st March. Courses are available in a whole range of subjects covering Adult Social Care, Children's Social Care, Safeguarding, Foster Care and WBC Corporate Training.  Most of the courses are open to people working in Social Care and the Training Programme describes the content and who the courses are relevant for. Social Care Organisations and Personal Assistants located in West Berkshire benefit from discounted rates and the Training Programme sets out the charges where applicable. West Berkshire Council offers fully funded e-learning to support the Common Induction Standards and mandatory subjects as well as a variety of other useful social care subjects. Online assessments are also available. The assessment tool is simple, user friendly and available via the internet. Each completed assessment generates a report that can be used to support induction, refreshers and the employee performance management process. The reports include: - correctly and incorrectly answered questions - percentage score - development required to meet Common Induction Standards.  Both e-learning and on-line assessments are available at no charge to PVI’s associated with West Berkshire Council and Personal Assistants located in West Berkshire. E-learning and online assessments can be accessed from your own computer or there is a small charge to undertake e-learning and online assessments in the West Berkshire Council’s Assessment Centre.

In addition to our in-house Training Programme Social Care Training, can provide trainers to come to your premises, also a Moving and Positioning training venue and trainer .Social Care Organisations located in West Berkshire benefit from a discounted rate for both services.

West Berkshire Council facilitates a Workforce Development Forum specifically for private and voluntary providers of social care. This ensures we are using our funding to support the local PVI sector and their workforce development needs.
