Networks (what are others doing?)
There are lots of networks out there that may be able to help you. Some are condition specific (e.g. mental health) some are just social care, some are just health care and some are both. We have also included some case studies of Thames Valley social care providers who involve their service users and carers.
- In Control is a partnership that specialise in personal budgets for care and more service user control of care. As well as downloadable resources they also have a list of trainers who specialise in 'making personal budgets happen'
- Shaping Our Lives a national user network , find out about publications on user involvement, some produced by Shaping Our Lives and some by other organisations.
- Together -includes the Directorate of Service User Involvement, National Directory of local Service User groups, and useful information leaflets & research reports to download in the Publications section.
- Check out Skills for Care's Participation Strategy for people who use services and carers.
- INVOLVE has a research network, called invoNET, they meet for workshops but also have an invoNET web network.
- Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP) have Regional Development Centres across England that support local work in care services policy and improving delivery.
