The Log on to Care Team are pleased to announce the development of a brand new Safeguarding vulnerable adults course.
The course has been developed in partnership with the NHS, and with specialist input from Safeguarding experts working in Local Authorities, the Private and Voluntary sector and the NHS.
The feedback from Train the Trainer organisations who have used it in the last 2 weeks has been excellent, where people have commented on how interactive it is, and believe that the use of video and case studies helps understanding.
This will be available on the site via the Learner Management system, within the next 2 weeks, and we are keen to promote the use of the course on line wherever possible.
We will do a few CD-ROMS to active members of Train the Trainer groups across the Thames Valley patch, where there are issues around connectivity, but want to encourage people to access the course online.
The duration of the course is about 1 hour. At the end of the course there is a post course assessment, which must be taken to complete the course, and you can print off a certificate. If you leave the course before you get to the end, there is a facility to pick up where you left off.
By completing this course you will be able to:
- Describe the different types of abuse
- Recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse
- Explain who can be vulnerable to abuse
- Outline your responsibilities when responding to abuse
- Identify who you should report to if you are worried about abuse
