The Log on to Care learning Centre is planning on a number of new Modules for the Learning Centre.

Stroke Competencies

There are 20 new short E-learning courses now available on the Learning Centre through the Stroke Association.  Core Competencies are those which all health and social care staff working with people affected by stroke should know about (knowledge) or be able to perform (skills).

Areas covered in the different competency areas include cause of stroke, effect of stroke, reducing the risk of stroke, communication, emotions, thinking processes and behaviour and rehabilitation.

Managing Challenging Behaviour

We are in the process of upgrading this Module, so that its bang up to date, and has a wider remit that includes working with older people and people with Learning Disabilities.

This will be on the site for mid January 2012.

Common Induction Standards

We are co-authoring a brand  new Module to provide practical support to help individuals work through each of the 8 main areas of the Common Induction Standards

The approach to this course will be to provide for each of the areas of the standards:

1. An understanding of what each of the standards mean in practice for you

2. Some practical exercises and scenarios that will help you with the learning to understand each area, and encourage you to use different methods of learning

This will be on the site for late January/early February 2012
