Funding
Did you know you can access funding to support your training costs?
All personal assistants can now access funding to support some of their accredited training. You can access funding to help pay for manual handling training, First Aid Training, completion of the common induction activity and any NVQ units / qualifications.
How can you access this funding?
Your direct employer will need to enter relevant data regarding their employer status and your work role on the national minimum data set.
What is the national minimum data set for social care (nmds-sc)?
The National Minimum Data Set for Social Care gathers information about the adult social care workforce. Employers from all areas of the sector including the independent and statutory sector register and update their information.
Skills for Care and government bodies use this information about the workforce to inform government policy and funding. The NMDS-SC also helps your local authority to develop a greater knowledge of the workforce and service providers in your local area. This helps them to plan and develop a future workforce to meet the needs of local people

Why should I complete the NMDS-SC?
Registering and updating your NMDS-SC information means that you will have the opportunity to access money for training. This will help you to develop the skills of your staff, giving them confidence and a sense of achievement.
There is no cost to you for this activity.
