News
September 2011 saw the start of the Skills for Care MKOB themed meetings. So far there have been two meetings.
September 2012 – Workforce Development Strategy:
This session covered the strategy which had been launched in May 2011 and gave attendees the opportunity to discuss the policy drivers for the policy as well as organisational specific issues for implementation. Topics were also considered to inform future themed meetings. A copy of the slides used for this session are attached and the Workforce Development Strategy can be found here
November 2012 - CQC Mandatory training and NMDS:
This session covered CQC Mandatory Training Updates and the Skills for Care tool to support this as well as the dissemination of a recent mapping exercise undertaken by Rachel Reid (Skills for Care) and Caroline Post (MKB Care) in conjunction with Oxfordshire County Council, Buckinghamshire County Council and Milton Keynes Council to illustrate their decisions around the timescales for mandatory training updates for their own staff.
The 2 questions identified by those present have been forwarded to CQC and I will come back to all when we have a response to these. We have also sought feedback from CQC on the mapping exercise and will identify a suitable web based place to host this.
A copy of the slides and mapping are attached. The Skills for Care tool can be accessed here
This session also covered an overview of NMDS. The slides for this session are also attached.
