Training in West Berkshire
Social Care Training at West Berkshire Council provide a training programme every year from 1st April to 31st March. Courses are available in a whole range of subjects with the programme covering Adult Social Care, Children's Social Care, Safeguarding (both Adults and Children), Foster Care and WBC's corporate training. Most of the courses are open to anyone and the programme describes the content and who the courses are relevant for. Some courses are fully funded - the Training Programme sets out the charges where applicable.
We also offer fully funded e-learning and online assessments to support the Common Induction Standards and mandatory subjects as well as a variety of other useful social care subjects. In addition to our inhouse training programme, we provide trainers (who can come to your premises) and we can provide you with use of a moving and handling training venue. Social care organisations located in West Berkshire benefit from a 50% discounted rate. We participate in a Workforce Development Forum specifically for private and voluntary providers of social care and these opportunities help us to ensure we are using our funding to support the local private and voluntary and their developmental needs.
On our webpages, you will also find the Annual Training Report and Plan that sets out what has been achieved for both WBC staff and also PVI sector during the past (financial) year. It shows the identified priorities for the current (financial) year together with a Financial Plan showing how our funding is spent.
